Information We Collect
We collect information needed to provide Trivi's trivia, ranked play, profile, beta feedback, and coaching features.
Account Information
When you sign in with Apple, we may receive and store your Apple account identifier, display name, and email address if Apple provides it to us. If you use Apple's private relay email feature, we may receive the relay email address instead of your personal email address.
We also store profile information you choose in Trivi, such as display name, profile icon, profile color, profile border, onboarding interests, skill level, and onboarding assessment results.
Gameplay and Progress Information
We collect gameplay and progress information, including answers, scores, match participation, ranked lobby and match records, leaderboard points, rank tier, daily challenge progress, daily challenge completions, practice activity, category performance, response times, and related gameplay statistics.
Coach and Insights Information
If you use Trivi Coach or insight features, we may process your profile, gameplay, ranked history, category performance, practice progress, coach chats, generated coach reports, refresh quota state, and related app activity to provide personalized explanations, practice recommendations, and progress insights.
Beta Feedback and Support Information
If you submit beta feedback or contact support, we collect the information you provide, such as feedback category, message text, and support request content. To diagnose issues, beta feedback may also include app version, build number, bundle identifier, device model, operating system version, app environment, and your Trivi user identifier if you are signed in.
Notifications and App State
We may store notification read state and related app state so Trivi can show relevant in-app notifications and avoid repeatedly showing the same information.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide account, sign-in, profile, trivia, daily challenge, practice, ranked play, leaderboard, notification, and beta feedback features.
- Save progress and sync your activity across sessions.
- Generate personalized coach reports, question explanations, and practice recommendations.
- Maintain safety, reliability, fraud prevention, debugging, and service quality.
- Respond to support requests and beta feedback.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms or policies.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, advertising measurement, or cross-app tracking.
Third-Party Services
Trivi uses service providers to operate the app:
- Convex provides backend hosting, database, authentication integration, functions, and real-time app services.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, Game Center, TestFlight, App Store services, and related platform services.
- OpenAI may process gameplay and profile context to generate Trivi Coach reports, explanations, and recommendations when those features are used.
- The Trivia API may provide trivia question content. Trivi routes question requests through our backend and does not need to send your account identity to The Trivia API for normal question fetching.
These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices. We use them to provide app functionality and do not authorize them to use Trivi user information for third-party advertising or tracking.
How We Share Information
We may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate Trivi.
- If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
- With your direction or consent.
Leaderboards, match results, ranked profiles, display names, and profile visuals may be visible to other Trivi players as part of gameplay.
Account Deletion and Your Choices
You can edit your profile in the app. You can delete your Trivi account in the app by going to Settings and choosing Delete Account.
When you delete your account, Trivi removes or anonymizes your account profile, stats, ranked profile, coach reports, coach chats, feedback identity, and other user-scoped data. Some shared gameplay records, such as match records needed for other players' history or app integrity, may remain without your personal profile details.

Data Retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Trivi, maintain service integrity, resolve support requests, comply with legal obligations, and operate security or backup systems. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize user-scoped records as described above. Some logs, backups, or security records may persist for a limited period before deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
Trivi is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Trivi, contact us at support@playtrivi.com so we can review and take appropriate action.
International Processing
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice in the app or on our website.
